Description Ben McGinnes 2015-05-16 07:27:06 UTC
Both the Styles and Formatting icon in the Formatting toolbar in Writer and the Command + T shortcut for the same purpose (bringing the Styles and Formatting panel to the foreground) does nothing. A brief highlighting of the relevant menu indicates LibreOffice is receiving and correctly interpreting the key sequence, but it does not perform the function.

This has been confirmed in 64-bit versions of LO 4.4.2.2 and 4.4.3.2 on OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks).

Accessing partial Style functions is still possible via the Styles dropdown portion of the Formatting toolbar or right clicking on a section of text to modify character and page settings.

Current work-around:  Use LO 4.3.7.

For me not reproducible with LO 4.4.3.2, Win 8.1
Maybe a Mac OS X only issue?
Comment 2 Ben McGinnes 2015-05-16 08:29:49 UTC
Given the other OS X issues with 4.4 and the fact that TDF HQ hasn't been marched on by a torch-lit peasant parade clamouring for the heads of those responsible, that seems statistically likely. Whereas if Windows and Linux were also affected you can bet that there would've been an ad-hoc remake of a Hammer Horror film by now.

Another workaround is to use the sidebar (default right hand side of Writer window), which gives access to the relevant styles and formatting properties

Will have a look at this later, could be a misconfigured menu slot ID

Worked in :

Version: 4.1.4.2
Build ID: 0a0440ccc0227ad9829de5f46be37cfb6edcf72

==>> regression
Comment 6 Alex Thurgood 2015-05-17 12:50:45 UTC
Also works in

Version: 4.3.5.2
Build ID: 3a87456aaa6a95c63eea1c1b3201acedf0751bd5

the shortcut Cmd-T activates the relevant Styles pane in the sidebar, but this is not displayed, i.e. the sidebar does not slide out from the right hand side. If you clcik on the sidebar to draw it out you will see the correct pane, but that doesn't help the user at it now means that they have a two-step process to gain access to the Styles pane, whereas previously a single keyboard combo sufficed.

This behaviour is due to the rework of the toolbars and the "improvements" to the sidebar...

This is WFM in

Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 376e27dd498d64212e570354a94c527b37d367b1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.12.6; UI render: default;
Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Calc: group

Pressing on Cmd-T in an open Writer document now opens the side toolbar Styles and Formatting dialog.
