Description johnmichaels 2015-05-25 14:36:55 UTC
currently using VN 4.3.5.2.0 build: 4.3.5.2.11.fc21. Linux fedora 21, KDE desktop.

When using writer, it frequently freezes up the complete linux system and I have to force a reboot. I believe the fault also happened with the previous version of libreoffice.

It doesn't seem to be a particular activity although I believe 'find and replace' or saving the file.

Almost every time I've used writer recently does it. I write short stories with editing and revising so am using libreoffice a lot. I am becoming extremely frustrated and am looking for a replacement word processor.

This will be difficult for us to identify/fix unless we can reproduce it.

Does it also happen if you reset your user profile?

You could also try a parallel install of 4.4.x https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux

Setting to NEEDINFO while we wait for further information.

Tried resetting profile. Appears to have solved it.

I've been very slow responding because I have had very little need to use libreoffice lately and therefore couldn't be sure it had been solved.

Thanks for all your help, please regard the problem as solved.
