Left side Word 2007, right side is Writer

Hello,

Writer seems to be having some difficulties with formating of the attached documents. For some reason, what should be shown as checkboxes (squares) are shown as Euro signs.

I tried to open this same file with MS Office 2007 running in CrossOver and it renders correctly. I do have the Times New Roman font installed and available to any of the applications.

Also, footnotes appear with a regular numeral like instead of a superscript. This is illustrated in the screenshot I attached.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I could reproduce this.

Tried this on the 4.4.3.2 for Windows and it does not show the Euro sign, it actually does not show any type of bullet.

Added screenshot.

Silviu: do you have the OpenSymbol font installed? The LibreOffice installer should contain it, but if not, you can find it here: cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/plain/extras/source/truetype/symbol/opens___.ttf

I suspect you have encountered bug 76239.

Hi Adolfo,

I assume you're asking me about the OpenSymbol font because I mentioned Windows :)

I booted into Windows earlier and checked. It looks like the font is indeed installed. See attached pic.

In the background is the already installed font. In the foreground is the font viewer with the file you pointed to opened (they show the same version).

The OpenSymbol font is also installed on my Ubuntu machine.
