Description kenkoym 2015-06-15 22:26:33 UTC
I believe libreofficewriter re-config/work around is needed to re-gain proper sizing & program operation. I did a sudo apt-get purge libreoffice followed by sudo apt-get install libreoffice || sudo apt-get autoremove || sudo apt-get clean. Got no difference after logging off and restarting.
Nice to have the clean up but plain old truth I, a 76 year old, want the regular size file to open, not one that is one third the size. Why? I fight macular degeneration/going blind if I do not follow my MD advice.
I don't see a way to establish what error exists; since June 12th newly opened empty documents are one third the size. Saved documents open in original readible size. Not so June 15th. Old docs are smaller in size than they were written; it's not feasible to edit or rewrite a libreoffice created document. I do not see this series of errors on forums. What happens? Prompt does hanging flashes. It [and wording I compose] looks like 7 point not 11 or 12-point type. The page I open (on which) work is to be done is about 1 third the correct size
LibreOfficeWriter is not working correctly. Wish I new a terminal instruction showing "Report my fowl up assessment;" so I could analyze what causes errors; or I could post them here.
Problems are:
a. pages open approximately a third of what I saw until last +/-June 10th.
b. on June 15th, text on two or three lines appear to be forcibly block marked. But to my knowledge I have not set up any such commands.
c. you can houver over text you'd edit but changes cannot be made readily &
d. once you get to the end of a line, the auto movement down to the next line in the page is frozen.
e. to get to the next line, you must literally move the mouse, telling the prompt to go there.
Again, I believe someone other than me has control over my PC. Yes, it could be a virus or hacker. Being I'm a federal retiree, it's feasible a Non US hacker decided to sabotage my PC. I'd prefer to believe a config error or an odd virus that explains the unwanted harrassment.
