Description Francisco 2015-06-19 00:09:37 UTC
In Impress, the tab for "Bullets" inside a style dialog is named as "Personalizar" when Spanish locale is applied ("Personalizar" = "Personalize", in English). This happens in the following LibO versions:

3.5.7
4.3.7
4.4.3
5.0.0b3

On the other hand, when working with Impress 4.1.6, the same tab is named "Opciones" (Options) instead of Bullets. I can't say anything about prior versions.

It seems to be that, when opening the "Number and Bullets" dialog, the tab that let you choose the same options (but in a "direct formatting" way) is named in that way: "Personalizar" (or "Opciones" in LibO 4.1.6).

Without the Spanish locale, this tab is named as "Bullets" within the "Edit style dialog", and "Customize" in the corresponding "Number and Bullets" dialog.

Steps:
1) With the Spanish locale already applied before opening LibO, create a new ODP document.
2) Open the "Edit style dialog" and look for the tab "Viñetas", o "Numeración y viñetas", as it is named in Writer with Spanish locale.

Result:
No tab named in that way is found. However, a tab for editing bullet style is found under the "Personalizar" tab.

Expected:
The tab for bullet style editing should have a more intuitive translation.

Sorry for taking so long to respond; I missed this bug report!

If you can still reproduce the problem, I’d be very grateful if you could attach a screenshot of it. I’ve searched Pootle for mistranslations and couldn’t find anything related to this.

Bullets tab in style edition dialog in Impress with Spanish locale

Hi! Don't worry for me, there's another bullets bug that worries me.

Here there's a screenshot of the Bullets tab in style edition dialog in Impress with Spanish locale. It's named "Personalizar" ("Personalize") and if a user guides from the name, he/she won't be able to find how edit bullets style.

Adolfo:

It seems to be that I've made a stupid mistake: this tab is always named "Personalizar" in Spanish, and "Customize" in English. I made a mistake because there is already a "Bullets" tab.

So, this isn't a localization bug, but maybe a UX. Do you think I should create a new bug report?

Also, I've reported another bug about the Spanish localization, it's bug 88024.

Regards,

Francisco.

I will address the first report shortly; no need to report another one. As for 88024, I need to investigate. Stay tuned!

So there was an inconsistency among Writer and Impress/Draw w.r.t. the naming of this tab, which Tamás solved in bug 104737. I backported his patch to libreoffice-5-3 only [1], as the other branches are string-frozen, so the change will appear in 5.3 RC1.
