Created attachment 116850 [details] ugly UI issues. Hi, I really like to use open source software like libreoffice. But it's still so ugly on a Mac. Here some examples (look at the screenshot attached): 1) Why is there such an ugly line? remove the bright one, so it's consistent with the left content window (above the ruler) 2) why is there such a fat border just to collapse the view? Wouldn't it be better to have a little pin at the top right edge of the whole view? And to show it again, everyone knows what a menubar is and to look under "View" ... 3) Why are all comboboxes, textboxes and dropdown boxes so f*****g ugly? Why all the grey stuff in the middle. It looks like you really just put it together in 5 minutes and never touched it again. It must be possible to either draw the grey everywhere or make it transparent? 4) again a very strange bright line, remove it. And the grey one from the status bar is not going to the window edge, but stops in the nowhere. 5) the little icon is not correctly vertically centered. And the right padding should be the same as top and bottom. 6) the vertical alignment of the statusbar text is also not perfect. Could go 1 or 2 pixels up.
Most of those issues are inherited from OpenOffice.org (note the “-.org”) and are already reported (it’d be good to do a search before). While the issues are valid, the way this report was created is not. Please never stack multiple issues in a single bug report, in any bug-tracking website. (P.S.: It’s not necessary to use language such as “fucking ugly” or “you put it together in 5 minutes”.)

Hi, I'm sorry that I used the f word. You are right about that. But it's still sad that we don't have something sexy. I spent some time in photoshop and made a little mockup how LO could look like on the mac.
Matthias, if you are interested in improving the situation (and you are not alone) you might want to visit the IRC channel #libreoffice-design on freenode. There are some very active and capable people. I think showing up there getting in touch with "jphilipz" "htietze" "kendy" and the rest should be effective to move things forward and bring LO to a more usable and beautified state. A single bug won't help also not a bug unspecific as this was. Hope to see you on the IRC (: Let's create a beautiful LO!
Hi Matthias, Some of the issues you have pointed out are likely toolkit issues that arent really possible to fix when you deal with cross platform apps, but i did like the single color toolbars over the current gradient one, as presently the gradient isnt truly generated by the OS and may look good in 10.9 but not in 10.10, as well as our breeze or sifr icons dont look as clear on the second toolbar.
