Right now, snap to grid works on any corner of an object or selection. It can be a pain trying to align an object to the grid if the size of the object doesn't match the interval-measurements of the grid. I often have this problem with text frames, and accidentally align the wrong corner to the grid, such as the upper right corner when I'm trying to align the upper left corner. I sometimes have to rely on the position & size functions, which allow me to choose the anchor point and type in the proper coordinates. I think it would help to be able to choose anchor points for both snap-to-grid and position & size. However, it could sometimes be necessary, for some users, to use different anchor points for two objects, or to use more than one anchor point for snap-to-grid, unlike position & size. I also think this would be another workaround for another of my bugs: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92603
So selecting a point on the shape would allow us to mark it as the snap target and also as the "action center" for position/size/rotation. Sounds good to me, as I'm familiar with this type of functionality from 3D software.
