Hi First thing what is Lorem Ipsum? -------------------------------- For sure you have seen this text in many published examples with programs like QuarkXpress, Corel, Indesign. Quoting Wikipedia: In publishing and graphic design, lorem ipsum (derived from Latin dolorem ipsum, translated as "pain itself") is a filler text commonly used to demonstrate the graphic elements of a document or visual presentation. Replacing meaningful content with placeholder text allows viewers to focus on graphic aspects such as font, typography, and page layout without being distracted by the content. It also reduces the need for the designer to come up with meaningful text, as they can instead use quickly-generated lorem ipsum. The lorem ipsum text is typically a scrambled section of De finibus bonorum et malorum, a 1st-century BC Latin text by Cicero, with words altered, added, and removed to make it nonsensical, improper Latin. Why is useful Lorem Ipsum? -------------------------- When you are creating a document, you need to focus in the design of the document. Tables, graphics elements, pictures, boxes, etc. To make your design have a coherence, you need to insert text automatically, so you can have a finshed document, which act as a preview, giving you a final idea of how the document would look like. In those cases you need a tool to insert fast quantities of a demo text. That demo text can be later on replaced by the final text of the user, but, for a preview, you only need to use a tool that gives you the skill to insert paragraphs and paragraphs of randoms texts, so you can have a clear idea on how the final document would be formatted. Of course, if you type this text, it would take a loooot of time, but with a Lorem Ipsum generator this task is accomplished in seconds. For example: Texts from Shakespeare, Cervantes, or whatever author could be in public domain. However, the standard in press and printing is Lorem Ipsum. There are web based Lorem Ipsum generators, as this one: http://www.lipsum.com/ However, using a website it's annoying because you have to copy and paste text, whilst programs like Indesign allows you to just enter a random text in paragraphs, tables, blocks of texts, etc, so you have time.
Enter lorem then hit F3 and the text will expand (or try "dt" for english text). This uses the "Auto Text" functionality (ctrl-F3 or in menu go to edit->auto text) which allows you to add such text shortcuts yourself. There are many more already built-in. PLEASE, DO NOT CONFUSE A "RANDOM TEXT GENERATOR" WITH "AUTO-TEXT" ARE DIFFERENT THINGS You did not understand what a Lorem Ipsum generator is. Auto-Text is not useful here. Lorem Ipsum paste large quantities of radom texts in a paragraph, table, box, etc. Please, observe this: "large quantities of random texts". This is necessary because in that way you can see how the paragraph will looks like. Repeating texts our autocompleting is not useful because it forces you to complete several steps: hit f3, use auto-text, go to that menu. No. A Lorem Ipsum generator is an option you can find in a contextual menu after pressing the right button of your mouse and with a single click you are able to fill large quantities of text in boxes, tables, paragraphs, etc. To understand how this work and why is useful, is necessary to have some minutes of time and watch the video: https://youtu.be/ymbt223fa44?t=3m25s Why Auto-Text cannot be used: ----------------------------- - It cannot be used becuase to see the aspect of a document you need "RICH TEXT", that is a lot of different text. That allows you to appreciate things like line spacing, kerning, fonts styles, colors and very important THE GENERAL COMPOSITION OF THE PAGE. Repeating a lot of time Lorem Ipsum is not useful. A designer cannot do anything with that. Again, to understand what this feature is, you need to be a designer. Why is useful a Random Text Generator (Lorem Ipsum Generator): -------------------------------------------------------------- - Because it allows you to create templates very fast, having the perfectly defined and ready to use. - Because allows you to create memorandums ready to use, or standard letters, circulars, ready to use, that need to be filled with random text, that later on, will be replaced by the final text. However, is necessary to have the documents already finished with a random text to see how they looks like. Please, do not confuse with Auto-Text.

Hi there, as far as I know, that extension is no longer working. Please, read at the end: Unfortunately the main dialogue is no longer localized. I expect to solve this soon. So that extension don't work... I don't think this be resolved. I'd appreciate if you test also that extension. If it works for you, then this would be resolved. If not, we don't have any extension and the feature request would still valid. Please, let me know.
