Presentation was OK to navigate and modify in normal view mode. I switched to notes page, and it slows down dramatically. Saving takes minutes instead of a couple of seconds.

Minimizing the presentation did not help.

However, changing to file format from odp to ppt did solve the problem.

Running Ubuntu 15.04 on a Intel® Core™ i7 CPU Q 840 @ 1.87GHz 64 bits

Can you attach the problematic odp? Or a modified example that exhibits the problem?

Cannot upload the odp: 36MB.
I tried to reproduce the behavior with a generic presentation but did not succeed.

The loaded file is indeed 36MB, but when downloaded it is only 1.6 kB. I re-loaded the file and have the same problem. Never saw that before. I am stuck for now.

Saving in Notes view takes only a couple of seconds. I do have a beefy machine, i7 6700k + 32GB memory, but I guess I should see the slow down in any case.

PAB: Please test with 5.1.x.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.

Tried with 5.0.5.2 and did not reproduce the bug. Saved in couple of seconds.
