Created attachment 117722 [details] Document exhibiting the problem When opening the attached document and turning on the page pane, the loading of the photos in the previews of the page pane enters an infinite loop burning the CPU. Once this loop has started, it continues even when the page pane is closed until the document is closed.
Ok, when I tried making a small test case of this document with pictures, I noticed that I am not able to replace the images in the frames. When I replace the images, then go to the next page replace images there and then save the new document. This new document does not have the pictures replaced.
I guess, the issue isn't about UI after all. Maybe the document is malformed?
It seems the images are linked so we can't see them.
The images are linked. But the bug seems to be, that it's impossible to replace the links with proper images in the linked document. Try the following: 1. open the attached document 2. replace one of the images with a local image 3. go to next page replace one of the pictures with a local image 4. go back to the first page what you expect: the first image is replaced with the local image you chose in step 3. you see: the replacement didn't stick

Can you look into it and maybe you can produce an example document for your original infinite loop problem? Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the loop problem persists and you can provide an example document. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.
