example datasource for mailmerge

mail merge produces white pages (instead of pages with text) for datasets >=2 if N-UP printing is selected. Here is how to reproduce:

0) ensure that PDF is default printer language (setup the corresponding checkbox in tools->options/LibreOffice/printer)

1) open the attached mail merge document (Sample_document_mailmerge.odt)

2) Use "tools->mail merge wizard/insertAdressBlock->choose different datasource" (translated from German UI) to register the attached simple datasource (einsBisNeun.ods). Cancel Mail merge wizard after that.

3) Use "file->print", "yes", for mail merge printing. Select "print to printer", "OK". Choose a pdf printer (if you have one) and in tab "page layout" set "pages per sheet" to 4. Now start the printing

--> on my linux system I recieve a non empty first page and 8 empty pages.

I assume that this bug is somehow connected to tdf#92324 (similar symptoms)

I couldn't reproduce this bug with windows. N-UP printing seems to work in windows. Interesting is here, that N-UP printing shows 4 datasets on the same sheet. I'm not quite sure that is is intended, since mail merge normally enforces a new dataset-result on an odd page (for duplex printing). So this example on windows produces 3 sheets (dataset 1,2,3,4 on the first, dataset 5,6,7,8 on the second and dataset 9 on the 3rd page).

On the linux system, I got 9 sheets instead. Maybe it is better to start for each dataset on a new sheet!? But nevertheless the bug (white pages since 2nd dataset) still remains. Ist this bug just related to the cups printing system?

The implementing was combined with "Save as individual documents" what according to this has a change in the "Print-dialogue" a wrong handling according to has. Besides, the preview is not shown in the "Print-dialogue" properly.

The "Print automatically inserted blank pages" should not be forgotten to check

I want try to fix

I have made two commits
first one : https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/20130
i have make a refactoring of the main function "MergeMailFiles"

The second one : https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/20131
make the patch for solving the problem.

I think we can improve the patch, but that is the first step and solve the main problem "white papers"

Improve:
 - when print, one side to the paper, the handling move to the
   old handling, it is faster
 - in the "pTargetView" remove the printed sides (memory)
(exist a remove function for that?)
 - Asynchronous print

I need this in LO 5.0, i have develop for LO5.0 and merge to the master, in this case the better solution is, i commit my changes from my LO5.0 to libreoffice-5-0, the cherry-pick from master to LO5.0 make no sense.

Christoph: can you test with 5.1.2? If it works, this can be set to RESOLVED FIXED.
