Created attachment 117981 [details] Traceback of CRASH when File -> Close How to reproduce the crash: (1) LibreOffice Startcenter → Recent Files → Select MyOldDocument.odt (created with OpenOffice 4.1.1) (2) Question: Update Styles | Keep Old Styles | Help → Keep Old Styles (3) Close window with Apples red button or with File → Close (after inspection only – no modifications) (4) Question: Don't Save | Cancel | Save → Don't Save (5) → CRASH Sometimes I can not reproduce the crash. I was unable to find out what makes the difference. (Most of the document is one large table with the elements of the first column filled with pictures.) Best regards Menno Cornelßen
@Menno: please provide us with a minimal document in which this problem is reproducible along with the steps to do so.
Please also tell us which version of OSX you are using
Also please indicate whether you are using LibreOffice from the AppStore, or from the TDF download page.
Hi Alex. Remarks to comments # 1 … 3: (1) I reduced the troublesome large document (17MB) from 5 to 1 page. Then I modified the referenced template. But when opening the shrinked document I do not get the expected question „Update Styles | Keep Old Styles | Help“ and can close it without crash. But please see my additional observations below. (2) My operating system is Mac OS X 10.9.5 (13F1112). (3) I downloaded LibreOffice_5.0.0_MacOS_x86-64.dmg via „https://de.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-still/?type=mac-x86_64&version=5.0.0&lang=de“. Apples AppStore offers LibreOffice Vanilla Version 4.4.4.6. Additional observations while experimenting with templates: (a) LibreOffice Startcenter → Templates → My Templates shows the hidden file .DS_Store! This file was created by the OSX Finder and should be ignored by LibreOffice. When opening the Template Manager via Templates → Edit Templates showing „My Templates“ then .DS_Store is not shown. (b) When editing one of „My Templates“ and inspecting it’s properties with File → Properties → General then the incomplete location „~/Library/Application Support“ is shown. Shouldn’t it be „~/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice/4/user/template“ as shown in Preferences? (OpenOffice 4.1.1 shows the complete path.) (c) When editing and testing templates I managed to produce at least 3 crashes without being able to remember what steps I performed before the crash. Because of this I can’t reproduce the crashes. My impression is: These crashes are sporadic. (d) The directory „~/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice/4/user/temp“ now contains 339 objects totaling to 269.4 MB of data. Is this the consequence of all the crashes? Shouldn’t LibreOffice cleanup this mess? With best regards Menno Cornelßen

You have crashes ok but without a file and step by step process to reproduce this, it's complicated... d) idem a)+ not sure but it seems some work has been done about this, see tdf#88314
@Menno: without a test file that reproduces the Style Update problem, this bug report will end up being closed as invalid. Why is the style update dialog triggered ? Which styles have you changed in your document / template for this to occur ?
might be the same as bug 94848 ?
(In reply to Cor Nouws from comment #7) > might be the same as bug 94848 ? No not the same, maybe related
