missing icons in the toolbar split buttons

If a user's system does not have icons on by default in menus (e.g. OSX, Ubuntu), this setting shouldnt affect icons appears in toolbar drop down menus, like the New or Insert Fields split buttons.

I disagree with this request. If the user intentionally customizes to hide icons we must not overrule his decision (even for sake of a good design). The same is true if she runs a system where icons are not common. And for this menu icons are not crucial.
