Congratulations on the progress so far with msword documents, it has come a long way. This Microsoft Word Document is supplied by Energysafety New Zealand for all Electricians to use to certify electrical work in New Zealand. It is supplied both as a DOC and as a PDF which means even someone without Word can see what the document should be looking like. While there are couple of bugs with Libreoffice preventing non technical electicans using this document, this bug is about the spacing above the first line of text: "ELECTRICAL CERTIFICATE OF COMPIANCE & ELECTRICAL SAFETY CERTIFICATE" MSWORD 1mm LibreOffice 8mm. This issue combined with box sizing spacing causes the document to spread over two pages as can be seen when comparing the PDF with the DOC. Document not attached them as I am not the author and cannot approve a change in license. However they are provided for anyone in New Zealand and I have managed to find no restrictions documented on the website. There are two examples as shown here: http://www.energysafety.govt.nz/forms/certification/electrical-certification-templates/ The Word DOC file in question (85kb): http://www.energysafety.govt.nz/documents/forms/certification/Electrical-Combined-ESC-CoC-.doc The pdf file link (1.2Mb) http://www.energysafety.govt.nz/documents/forms/certification/Electrical-combined-ESC-CoC.pdf The issue is seen when saving both as "Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003" and as ODF
Reproducible with LO 5.0.1.2, Win 8.1. The doc document has a blank line at the top, which has in LO and MSO a different size. Therefore, the space at the top is in LO larger than in MSO as reported in the bug description leading to that the form does not fit on one page. Furthermore, as reported there are some further problems with the columns width leading to that some text is further indented and that text boxes are extended beyond the frame edge of the form. And there is also one problem with a horizontal placing of an added line.
One report, one single problem ? :) Would be great if that could be done.

This bug was meant to be about one problem. Sorry that was not clear.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.1.5 or 5.2.1 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Update on the attached files: A public official request was made and apparently approved: there is a bug report with www.libreoffice.org for the latest form being rendered incorrectly. I am seeking permission to attach the form to the bug report which would then help developers fix the compatibility issue. It may possibly be included in automatic testing to monitor compatibility. Do the developers have permission to use the forms to improve compatibility? worksafe officially replied: Good Afternoon [name redacted] Thanks for your reply Yes, the Information required on these forms are set out in regulation . We have provided these template as to allow industry to adhere to the regulations Kind Regards Kind Regards [redacted name] Business Service Lead Advisor, Business Service Centre Energy Safety | WorkSafe New Zealand

Created attachment 130017 [details] Libreoffice pdf generated file showing formatting - to compare with official 2016 pdf Replace file with updated file.
Worksafe no longer provide the origional May 2014 file. However this error is still present in the current official version as of Dec 2016, downloaded from the link above. I have refreshed the files.
This was not properly reported (clear steps) and triaged (check and reproduce). Bug is about "spacing above the first line of text: "ELECTRICAL CERTIFICATE OF COMPIANCE & ELECTRICAL SAFETY CERTIFICATE" but not clear whether FILEOPEN or FILESAVE. Anyway, that's similar in MSO and LO, both for fileopen and filesave, even with LO 5.2.4. There's a strange logical error here: DOC available as attachment 130016 [details] that opens with 2 pages BOTH in MSO 2010 and LO was compared to PDF available, which opens with 1 page. We cannot compare LO generated PDF with official PDF, which is obviously different file, we can only compare LO generated PDF with MSO generated PDF. I'll close as WFM. If proved otherwise, please reopen.
