I can confirm the behaviour in 5.0 daily and 4.2.8. @Regina: Any insight on this? Version: 5.0.3.0.0+ Build ID: 88ca0c91484350b60c6a10a7a1ef570d83560df1 TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:libreoffice-5-0, Time: 2015-09-09_11:11:30 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)
No insights, but I have found the corresponding issue for OpenOffice, see URL.
I see the error already in OOo2.4.3. The error happens not only when the top-level menupopup is opened, but in the same way when a submenu menupopup is opened.
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. Bug still exists in version 5.2.2 with Win7. But the procedure in order to display the existing help page of the original description does not work since version 5.1.0. If you click Esc at step 3 the main menu item "Format" is no longer highlighted and hence the help page can't be opened at step 4. I think this is intended in order to save one user step in other use cases. In order to get the right page you have to use the search function of the local or online help.
Still repro with new help (6.2 beta1). Goes to text/swriter/main0000.html
The help pages correctly display in version 24.2.1.
