Almost certainly an idle-rendering issue; personally I really wonder if the re-rendering shouldn't have a higher priority than anything 'MEDIUM' - then again; significant lag is rather curious; I'd expect this to be done & on-screen in ~1ms so. Julien & Richard - is this Linux or Windows or ? ...
For Richard, it was MacOs, for the reporter of the dup, it was on Windows. That's why I put All As for me, with LO Debian package 5.0.1.2, it lags at the very beginning, then it's ok. I noticed these logs with Debian package: ** (soffice:24988): WARNING **: missing get indicator state
On Windows 7 Home, LO 5.0.1.2, if I type a word quickly and immediately Alt+Tab to another application, the final letters of the word are lost.

I've just checked it on 5.0.2.2 - no lagging. It's probably due to the OpenGL support, advertised in 5.0.2.
Not trivially reproducable on Ubuntu 15.04 with 1:5.0.3~rc2-0ubuntu1 from the LibreOffice ppa => NEEDINFO for more specific repoduction scenarios dupes say this is not Writer-specific, thus => Component: LibreOffice
