Description Thomas Paine 2015-09-09 23:53:55 UTC
I have an .odt document created with OpenOffice in 2012. With previous versions of LibreOffice the document would open normally. With the current version I only get a blank page which I cannot edit. The word and character counts appear correctly on the bottom bar; there is just no text to be seen and I cannot type on the page. .odt documents created with earlier versions of LibreOffice open normally and I can create new documents with the current version.

Without having the offending document it is impossible to know what happens.
If the document does not contains confidential data, please attach it to this bug report. If it contains confidential data, you could do what follows:
1/ try to open the document on another LibreOffice installation
2/ try to open the document in AOO and save it again, then open in LO.
3/ say if you can send it _privately_ to a QA team member or a developer.

Best regards. JBF

@Thomas
also tell which is the last version that worked fine with that document
Comment 6 Jean-Baptiste Faure 2015-09-12 15:14:25 UTC
Thomas sent his file to me privately. I did not reproduce the problem with this file and LibreOffice 5.0.3.0+ under Ubuntu 15.04 x86-64.

Best regards. JBF

Thomas: Could you get in touch with Tommy and see if he can reproduce this bug? It'd also be great to hear what version of Windows you're using with LibreOffice. Thanks!

(Tossing into NEEDINFO until we hear back from you)

Robinson: Sorry, but I don't know how to get in touch with Tommy. I am running the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1. I am currently using Libre Office Version: 5.0.4.2 Build ID: 2b9802c1994aa0b7dc6079e128979269cf95bc78 and the document still opens as blank. On my laptop, which runs Ubuntu 15.10 and Libre Office Version: 5.0.5.2 Build ID: 1:5.0.5~rc2-0ubuntu2, the document opens with bold, italic text, which is not the text it was saved with.

I hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you need anything else.

Thanks.

Info from reporter: However, I am now running LibreOffice 5.1.3.2 on Widows 10 on a new computer and find that the document now opens correctly.

Tested with 5.1.3.2 and Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha1+; win7 and it works.

Probably duplicate of the bug 98989
Closing.
