Still in 5.1 beta 1 ( Linux )
Comment 5 Timur 2015-12-01 15:19:29 UTC
This is rather complex document, with many faults and regressions.

Problems with rendering exist, but:
- it's highly unlikely that any bugs of type "multiple problems/bad rendering", will be fixed
- each issue (section break, paragraph break, text box, picture...) should be reported separately, after a search for already reported bugs
- if bugs don't exist, they should be reported separately, even if they happen with the same file

Finally, I don't know what this bug is about. If it's table on page 3, than a minimal docx should be created.

single page and single table version
Comment 7 mal 2015-12-01 15:46:37 UTC
Yes, I totally agree with you, well 99%.

I have made the document as simple as possible that still collapses the table.
and attached it.

I appreciate the task you have, unravelling Word documents must be a nightmare.
I posted the original partly in hope that what was wrong would be something that helped developers and partly so you can see a really mangled document. I have worked really hard to get LO adopted and as you can see some staff will not part with Word until I pry it from the cold dead hands and when it does this to existing Word documents I am a bit lost. I can't say 'Well if it was a half well constructed document it wouldn't do that' or ' Why not just re do it in LO'
Which as you can see from the other attachment I did do.... Sorry rant over.
I hope the smaller version helps more that the other

Regards

Mal

PDF of Smaller.docx from Word Online - looks OK but not great.

Smaller.docx first opens in 4.3. Still looks the same in 5.3dev.

Word doc that is one big table over several pages

Word doc that is a table over several pages that is collapsed in the middle when open in Libreoffice, it should have 9 numbered sections but jumps from section 3 to 8
