Editing-Writer documents in newly created or existing documents all created in LibreOffice. Lines of text blanked-out (or less occasionally overwritten without blanking prior text ) when scrolling, inserting or deleting text (less often on simple cursor movement or simply increasing magnification). No loss of data--display issue only. Problem is more consistent at larger magnifications (>150%). At 75% or less magnification problem seems to abate. Downsizing magnification or (sometimes) page-up/page down key sequence will usually re-display page properly. Problem began after freh install of Mageia 5 but also affects another system that was updated to Mageai 5 from Mageia 4. Problem is very repeatable. Does not seem to occur in LibreOffice Calc.
I think you should upgrade to current latest stable release which is 4.4.5.2 and retest if bug is still reproducible. please give feedback. status NEEDINFO
Thanks. I usually wait for repository version which is still 4.4.2.2, but will download 4.4.5.2 and test problem for recurrence.
I installed latest release of LibreOffice 5.03 after uninstalling version 4.4.2.2 (all other information remains unchanged). That appears to have resolved the problem. Although I have not subjected it to much use yet, some simple manipulations of text files that would cause partial screen blanking has not resulted in any blanking.
I have since installed Mageia 5 on another Dell T3500 Precision Work Station which has an Nvidia FX380 video card.The screen blanking/overwriting problems have not occurred with LO Writer 4.4.6 on that system. My other Dell T3500 Precision Work Station system on which the problem continues to occurs (with Mageia 5) uses an early 2000 vintage ATI/Radeon Card video card for which Mageia provides only a generic driver. I recently discovered that the LO Writer screen will redisplay properly if I move the cursor into the header or footer space and click.

Problem resolved in LO 4.4.7.2 under Mageia 5. Please let me know if any other information is desired.
