Description ivor 2015-10-12 15:37:36 UTC
Having created a document in Writer with text and vector gaphics and saved it to Desktop, it opens normally when the title is clicked but if the icon is clicked ( to move it into a folder, say) the document crashes and blacks out the desktop. I have to restart the computer to get the Desktop back.

Need details about your OS, and Desktop Environment, the Graphics card, and build of LibreOffice if it occurs on more than 5.0.1.2 release.

Wait. I have discovered a workaround to avoid a crash of the Desktop. Opening as root will allow the .odt document to be placed into a folder. User can then work on it from there. But if user opens a new .odt document on the Desktop mixing .jpeg images and text, and then closes the new document, Desktop will crash whenever an attempt is made by user to select the closed new document. How is it that root can move the document but not user? The only unusual thing about this particular document is that it has .odt text in the middle of .jpeg images running down on each side of the text.

Maybe try to get a backtrace of the crash and attach the file here.
