Created attachment 119789 [details] screenshot of the issue Hi, Im using Libre Office 5.0.2, which I cant find on the drop down version in this reporting. I have a MAC OSX 10.11 (El Capitan). I have this problem since my previous version of Mac OSX Yosemite. I believe I filed a report back then regarding this issue. Issue: I'm unable to see the image i have inserted/copy to any Libre Office Software. I only see an image box where I cant visibly see the image. I have attached a screen shot of my issue inserted to it with Libre Writer. Please advise if there's any resolution to this problem. I've been using Libre Office and find it as convenient as with Microsoft Office. We appreciate your time and effort on this bug. Regards,
I'm using Version: 5.0.2.2 Build ID: 37b43f919e4de5eeaca9b9755ed688758a8251fe Locale : fr-FR (fr.UTF-8) OSX 10.11 and I can insert a PNG image into a Writer document : - drag and drop from Desktop ; or - via the Insert > Image menu. As you don't say what kind of image you are trying to insert, nor in which kind of document you are trying to insert it, there isn't much we can do with your report at the moment, so please provide detailed steps and if possible a test image in the format that isn't working for you. There are currently several known WMF/EMF/EMF+/EPS image display bugs in LibreOffice. If your image is one of these formats, your problem might well be a duplicate of an existing bug report.
Your screenshot shows that you are not using the TDF version of LibreOffice, but one provided by Collabora (either Vanilla or "by-Collabora").
(In reply to Alex Thurgood from comment #2) > Your screenshot shows that you are not using the TDF version of LibreOffice, > but one provided by Collabora (either Vanilla or "by-Collabora"). ??? On screenshot I read "This product was created by The Document Foundation" etc.
Hi, "- drag and drop from Desktop ; or - via the Insert > Image menu." I tried both of the steps you provided. I have tried attaching a .jpeg, .png, .gif all are the same. I dont see issues with WMF/EMF/EMF+/EPS.
Any update on this issue?

psybuck01 : please confirm the exact version of LibreOffice you are using, via the LibreOffice A propos / About menu entry and report back here. You only mention that it is 5.0.2, but the fourth and final digit is missing.
@psybuck : please provide us with a sample Writer document that contains the image which doesn't display properly.

Created attachment 119951 [details] sample document that has errors Hi, attached is the sample document containing the error with the image. Document saved format: .odt Image type: .jpg OS: Mac OSX (El Capitan) Libre Office version: 5.0.2.2
@psybuck : thank you for providing this information and sample document If I open your document, I can see picture of a (Yorkshire ??) terrier centred at the top of the page, so this is worksforme (WFM). My version of LibreOffice is 5022 from the TDF download page. Have you tried resetting your LO user profile ?
By any chance, do you have the "hide images" option ticked under Display/View in Writer ? I just noticed this option and if I activate it, I get a frame holder representation instead of the image. Please check and report back.

Please check and report back. Hi Alex, I dont have a "hide images" option, neither a Display/ View in my Writer. However, I have tried to look for an option for images. Opening a Writer, in the menu "Format"> Image> i dont have a option menu.

Yes its a yorkshire I send as a sample document.
In the 4th top-level menu from the leftt in Writer, the top entry of this menu is called Display or View, or something like that - in French, it is called Affichage. This menu has a whole list of options that can be turned on or off. About half-way down is an option to hide/mask image display. If you toggle that switch, you will see that the picture of the dog gets replaced with a frame or placeholder for the image.

I'd been trying to check the option you provided or maybe to understand the way i see it is "View" menu > "Hidden Image" I have unticked that and ticked it for several times but to no avail, still im unable to see the image. To try again on this issue. I tried to uninstall the LibreOffice and reinstalled a new one. To my luck, now I can see the image and the "Hidden Image" ticker is now working. I couldn't appreciate more of what you did. I tried to reinstall it several times but just now I got it working. I don't know how to express my gratitude on your patience and assistance. I can consider this issue resolve by reinstalling it a few times. Regards, Jonas
This issue is resolved by re-installing the LO version twice.
