thanks. please test with LibO 5.0.2 and tell if the issue is already affecting the 5.0.x branch as well you can find a portable version here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/winpenpack/files/X-LibreOffice/releases/
Unconfirmed with v5.0.3.2 under mint 17.2 x64. Font shows normally.
No problems. I even installed SquareSlab711 Bd BT Font. Plz try a newer 5.1: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/?C=M;O=A Win 7 Pro 64-bit, Version: 5.0.3.2 (x64) Build ID: e5f16313668ac592c1bfb310f4390624e3dbfb75 Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI) Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: b216cc1b8096eb60c27f67e8c27b7cd756c75e38 TinderBox: Win-x86@62-merge-TDF, Branch:MASTER, Time: 2015-11-12_00:06:20 Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI) Set to NEEDINFO. Change to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME, if the problem went away. Not to confuse too much in my workstation set-up, I moved to a test-machine. All 5o versions appear nearly the same way. Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 2.13GHz ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 Windows 7 Pro 32bit with automatic Updates up to 11.11.2015 All Libre Office versions are on the same machine with hwlp of LibreOffice Server Install GUI -------------------------------------------- Version: 4.4.5.2 fix installed Build-ID: a22f674fd25a3b6f45bdebf25400ed2adff0ff99 Version: 5.0.2.2 Portable rev 18 by winPenPack Build-ID: 37b43f919e4de5eeaca9b9755ed688758a8251fe Version: 5.0.3.2 Build-ID: e5f16313668ac592c1bfb310f4390624e3dbfb75 Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+ Build-ID: b26018b762b7d5659ffab98ffb05c7a74dc94910 TinderBox: Win-x86@62-merge-TDF, Branch:MASTER, Time: 2015-10-18_04:55:50 As this test-machine did not have the fonts installed, the Fontwork object characters had an other shape (as most you may have seen) but where readable as such (see Fontwork_noFont_pic). After installing the missing Postscript Fonts, the rendering is broken for ALL 5.x versions. See the PDF export Fontwork5Demo.pdf. This reminded my on the other Postscript Font trouble, since Export PDF function exist. Deutsche Umlaute never made it into the PDF file with PS Fonts, see Fontwork5Demo.pdf. As all my PS Fonts are from before 1997 and Adobe Acrobat and PDF Creator (using Ghostscript) is doing it fine, i never cared much. Problem could be pointed at Rendering a Fontwork Object with Postsccript Font provided by Windowws 7 32bit Helmut

Stupid me, it is much more simple In LO5 Draw new Doc Insert | Media | Fontwork Select Fav 2 | Ok Selct Object In Property Panel (there is no Context anymore) change Font to an olde Postscript Font It will display corrupted Windows 7 Pro 32bit SquareSlab711 Bd BT 0412A.pfm / pfb %!PS-AdobeFont-1.0: SquareSlabserif711BT-Bold 003.001 %CreationDate: Mon Jun 22 18:12:23 1992 % Bitstream Type 1 Font Program /FontName /SquareSlabserif711BT-Bold Helmut
Ok, thanks now I understand. I found a report that is about these old fonts not working, I will close this as duplicate. For now, you can use it in a modern format like I did. You can find it with a web search as ttf. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 37453 ***

But as it involves only Fontwork, i will go home with 'works for me'. Helmut
Ok, I was wrong. But how could we test this? Are there any free fonts of the same type that display the same problem?
(In reply to Beluga from comment #11) > Ok, I was wrong. > But how could we test this? Are there any free fonts of the same type that > display the same problem? Thank's for comeing back. I changed the Demo file to use a font 'given out by the maker for free' The maker is known for serious products. Use the *.pfm file to install Volkswagen in Windows, maybe someone can try on a Linux system. Thre output reult files are encloesd: LO Export to PDF Adobe Printer to PDF Screen Shoot Helmut

I installed the pfm on Windows and saw the ugliness. On Linux, the one I could install was pfb, but LibreOffice did not display the font for some reason! It was replaced with a working one. Could you try to export a document with Volkswagen and ALT+0199 ? Or is it better to make a new report. Helmut

Since we have a bibisect repository for windows covering the branch where this regression was introduced, adding keyword 'bibisectRequest'. More info: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bibisect/Windows
We are dropping support for Type 1 fonts in 5.3.
