This is already provided, and is simply accomplished from the Paste Special dialog: Shift Cells actions. Default is "Don't shift", options are to shift "Down" (if applicable), or shift "Right" i.e. the desired insert of a column since that is what was selected and is being pasted. There is another combinations with [Ctrl]+[Alt] for copy inserting a new column in destination without cut the origin.
