Created attachment 121558 [details] test file When you create a .doxc file in windows and copy Georgian text from internet to this file, it thinks that the Text is in Times New Roman and not in unicode sylfaen most probably. After saving this file and then re opening it the file gets corrupted, see the attached file.
To test I copped text from this page, well situations cause this problem as well but this text did the trick as well http://maiadiakonidze.blogspot.com/2015/12/blog-post_19.html
Hi Levan, thanks for reporting. For save in txt type you can choose to "Sava as" "Text - Choose encoding (.txt) /^.txt)", you need to select it every time you save the file I think this this a duplicate, please if you are not agree reopen it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 38902 ***

Ok then I created the docx file with Word, then pasted the text with LibreOffice and saved it. well it worked. Now I decided to create a file with libreoffice and created and saved the file, it worked. Finally i created a docx file from windows Context menu and edited this file with libreoffice and it corrupted the file.
> Finally i created a docx file from windows Context menu and edited this file > with libreoffice and it corrupted the file. Are you sure it is a docx file not a plain text file with docx extension?
Created attachment 121571 [details] origina and edited files This zip contains orignal unedited docx file and file that has been edited with ms word 2013 and libreoffice. The word file works

I honestly do not know but all I know is that docx file that has been edited with word works, I attached an unedited version as well here attachment 121571 [details]
Created attachment 121574 [details] Sample edited with ms word plus edited with LibreOffice Your file edited with ms word. Open with LibreOffice. Added text from your linked web. Saved with LibreOffice. I can't see the issue.

Are you using Windows ? because I managed to reproduce it on 2 different windows 8.1 machines, however I could not reproduce it on ubuntu. On the second windows machine when I created a new docx file from windows Context menu and then opened it and saved it with libreoffice, libreoffice asked me if I wanted to use Text format or open document format so I clicked text and it got corrupted.
Following comment#9, your file in comment#10 "original.docx" it's an empty file, but not a docx empty file, this why LibreOffice ask about the format to save, for LibreOffice only the extension doesn't identify the file type. Use "Save as" and select docx type. Seems not a LibreOffice bug, but how it is generated in the system.

Well I understand now that it's using simple text format but it is very easy to make my original mistake, Well I believe a lot of people disable save dialog that states notify me when not saving in odf format. So most of us press not to use odf and never notify me again. So in this case unlike MS word it saved this file in text format. Yes, i understand what happened now but does not change the fact it is very easy to make this mistake and I managed to loose important work at least twice, this way.
I think translate the problem doesn't solve it, doing properly the first step avoid nested issues. First if you really need to work with docx files, use the option in Menu/Tools/Options/Load and save, to use this file type as default. The best way is to use ODF formats, and if you need to share the file at same time, save a docx copy with Menu/File/Save a copy. Putting a link to a template file on your desktop can be an easy way to create new files in the format you like.

Well I would call this workaround. Sure I honestly know that I am wasting your time and this is my last comment because I understand I abusing your kindness. Well why not default to docx format in such a situation (just like MS word) and not use text. Or if there is an issue with that why not add an additional conformation step in such situation, like notepad does: Tells you that your text will not be properly saved in plain text format so change it. Now when I will be using libreoffice I will create files from it's menu but in a way it is like if I tell you not to use close minimize maximize buttons and do it from the menu bar
