Description Elliotte Rusty Harold 2015-12-29 23:11:27 UTC
I receive many different docx files in standard manuscript format. These have a page header of the form

title / author / page number

When I print them from LibreOffice on Mac the header is usually omitted completely. Ditto if I save as PDF. I cannot see the header in LibreOffice either, so perhaps it's just getting lost on import?

This doesn't happen with all .docx documents so it may have something to do with how the document was originally formatted, or what software created it.

Hi Elliote,

Thanks for reporting!
As you write: "it may have something to do with how the document was originally formatted, or what software created it."
Can you attach a sample document?
You may also consider to ask users support to sort out this:

FYI, this *may* be fixed in LibreOffice 5. I was not able to immediately repro the bug on a different machine running LO 5 instead of 4.

I'm working on creating a repro document. It's tricky because these are mildly sensitive documents sent to me, but which I do not own copyright/have permission to republish and certainly should not be included in a public bug report. But it is on my radar.

thanks - look forward to that!

Let's assume it's indeed resolved in the mean time.
If not: please give a test file and reopne.
thanks!

Lately I've been seeing documents that don't bring in the page numbers, though they do get everything else in the header. Probably a new bug.

Requests for samples that exhibit the bug are not always feasible. If not all documents show the bug and it's not obvious how to reproduce it in a specially crafted document, I usually cannot expose the actual document to third parties.
