Description bugs bunny 2016-01-12 22:31:22 UTC
When accessing menu "window", a list of windows opened in all components (oowriter, oocalc is what I use) is supposed to appear.

Bug: Contrary to expectation of seeing the list of all windows currently opened by libreoffice, quite often it includes only the one window in which this "window" menu is activated.

After a while, when this menu is activated later (Alt-W), more window titles appear in this menu (showing mostly correct list), but occasionally it shows a title of window which has been opened a few days back.

Installed from Fedora 23 default RPM repository.

Actually, I've noticed that the bug manifests in additional wierdities :
 - the window list (invoked by pressing Alt-W) often contains an already-closed document, and
 - clicking on an item on the list causes a window to pop up that contains another item on the list, not the one I selected

What desktop environment are you using?

Hello
For the test, could you rename your LibreOffice directory profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) and give it a new try?

Ok, does it make a difference with the problem, if you launch LibreOffice from the command line like this:
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen soffice

1. I have quit office : # ( ps auxwww | grep office | grep -v grep ) | wc -l #  => 0 lines

2. renamed  mv  ~/.config/libreoffice/4 ~/.config/libreoffice/x-4

3. experienced same behaviour

:(

more description of behaviour :

When I switch (Alt-Tab) to another office window, and press Alt-W immediately, a the menu with a shorter list of windows comes up. Then I press Esc twice (to get rid of the popup menu), wait a couple of seconds, press Alt-W again, and see a longer (complete) list of windows.

Now I am not sure yet
 whether I see the labels of files in this list that have been closed for hours
     right away after I switch (e.g. via Alt-Tab) and press Alt-W,
 or whether I see such "old files/windows"
     in the list even after several seconds.

voilà ! `SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen soffice` stops the above-described behaviour !

( A whole set of different-looking dialog boxes are used - something to the tune of Motif - but things like dialog box sizes are not remembered, whereas without use of SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN sizes are remembered between subsequent uses (e.g. size of Open File dialog)

How do I mark this thread "a almost fully working workaround" has been found instead of "FIXED" ?

thanks a bucketee ...

Let's leave this open. Me or someone else will later confirm this on KDE.

You can also try gtk instead of gen.

I believe it's the same thing that was fixed in Bug 97665 (see Bug 97665 comment 8).
