Created attachment 122275 [details] Shows Find etc does not find currency value with trailing zeros I format cells to be currency or numbers with 2 decimal places [maybe other formats also, I didn't check all.] Then I enter a value of 4.70. Neither Find nor Find/Replace will locate the entry, because neither recognises the trailing zero. Both correctly find 4.7. Particularly in dealing with money, it is normal to enter all digits including training zeros even thought these are scientifically meaningless. So this can be - and in my income tax spreadsheet yesterday was! - very misleading. This is v 5.0.4.2, I assume earlier also. I never posted a bug before, apologies if I didn't do it right.
Hi @Andy, thanks for reporting. Search have not the option to search for the formatted result instead the cell value. This was already requested. Resolved as duplicate, please if you are not agree, reopen it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 90449 ***
I marked this as "re-opened" because 97434 bears no resemblance that I can see to bug 90449. (For example, 90449 refers to the Search Results window, but searching for 4.70 in my example file does not even bring up the search results window.) And in Libre Office Windows 5.0.4.2 97434 is not resolved. As I said in the OP I never posted a bug before, apologies if I am missing something. But 97434 looks like an unresolved bug to me.
And, it is not a question of searching for formatted results / formulas / values. In my example file, searching for "4.70" does not find either the formula OR the value - it will not find values with a training zero and if you are dealing with currency, this is just wrong.
This was resolved fixed for 5.1.0 with http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=9a85743766e8a063d20d5f93ee88758e243397f4 for bug 48456 Please verify with a 5.1.0 build. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 48456 ***
