On trying to disable the behavior that letters in street numbers are automatically converted uppercase and following the informations I have found on the internet (disabling any auto-correction in the menu bar -> Tools -> Options... -> "Language Settings" -> "Writing Aids" -> Options: and formating the cell as Text I'm still seeing that for example the entry "teststr. 1a" gets converted to "teststr. 1A" if inserted in the related cell with the main input field.
What instructions did you follow? Were they about street numbers specifically? I, too, tried and failed to make the uppercase conversion stop. Maybe you could ask here, if some gurus know something: http://ask.libreoffice.org/
typing "test str. 1a" and Enter does not make 1a change to 1A tested in Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: 07a641b110beee4f7c76617fcd6ed558025321a2 CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 4.4; UI Render: default; TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86@71-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2016-05-02_02:15:45 Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL.UTF-8)
(In reply to Cor Nouws from comment #2) > typing "test str. 1a" and Enter does not make 1a change to 1A > In my case it works as reporter says: "test st. 1a" -> "test st. 1A" Tools - Autocorrect options - options - capitalize first letter of every sentence. When I turn it off, then automatic conversion to uppercase discontinue. Do you have it the same? Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha1+; win7

Disabling this option does indeed solve this issue. But now I'm wondering why the letter gets converted to uppercase here if this option is enabled as the letter is not at the beginning of the sentence.

Nice! > But now I'm wondering > why the letter gets converted to uppercase here if this option is enabled as > the letter is not at the beginning of the sentence. Hmm, good question. It's my bet that the dot and the space before trigger this, and that the number is ignored (as if it were a numbered list). Maybe you can check that :) ?
That the number gets ignored for some reason is my guess too. The question is if there are more use-cases that can use advantage of it (a list number without any separation character (not even a space) looks a bit weird to me) than use-cases that trigger a false-positive (like a street number).
status NEW according to comment 3. is this still reproducible with 5.2.x or 5.3.x?
