Subject: libreoffice-math: Libreoffice math shows 1xxxx utf8 characters incorrectly
Date: Sun, 20 Dec 2015 14:41:56 +0100

Package: libreoffice-math
Version: 1:4.4.5-2
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

The math equation editor prints on the screen incorrectly the 1xxxx utf8 characters.
They are showed as two squares in the text page and very shortly as two question marks in a black rhombus.
They are sometimes showed correctly in the editor window.

I tried some 1xxxx characters, not only this F.

I select them from gucharmap and paste them in the equation editor (the
X-way with the mouse).

Nope, I’m still removing loads of packages.

Version: 5.0.4.2
Build ID: 00m0(Build:2)
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8)

I still have the same bug and now, all my 25 equations from the old
version are garbage. Yay.
The F is correctly showed in the equation editor but not rendered
correctly in the text (I see two question marks in black diamonds).

Math uses the OpenSymbol font. Can you confirm that you have the package “fonts-opensymbol” installed?
Comment 4 Stéphane Aulery 2016-02-25 12:01:26 UTC
Yes, libreoffice-core package is build dependent of fonts-opensymbol.

Have you read the additional information in the Debian bug report. I am not the rapporteur I did triage. I'll try to get the precious document.

After a test with the release 5.1.1.1.3, the user think the bug is fixed.
