When using Times New Roman italics font in a Writer document there are random pixels occurring around the letters. This happens in a document created in Writer (not an imported file).

This happens when using Writer 5.1.0.3 on my Windows 7 64bit desktop computer or my Windows 8.1 laptop. You can also see this corruption when you view Times-BoldItalic in Writer's font list.

However, this seems to be a software issue and does not affect hard-copy printouts.

To workaround the issue, you can disable OpenGL rendering in Options.
