enable Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/View - Graphics Output - Use OpenGL for all rendering

close Calc

open Calc

Go to Menu/Tools/Options

Calc crashes

Reopen Calc

Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/View - Graphics Output - Use OpenGL for all rendering is now disabled

Version: 5.1.1.2
Build ID: 1:5.1.1~rc2-0ubuntu1~trusty0
CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 3.13; UI Render: default;

Discovered during diagnosing #98464

I am willing to install special version with debugging enabled and overall spend some time to provide additional data to make fixing this problem possible.

Hi Mateusz,

Thanks for reporting.
I experienced the same yesterday in 5.0.5.2. But that is irregular, happens now and then.. Ubuntu 32 bits.

I can't reproduce your issue with 5.1.0.3 But add it to the meta bug 93529 anyway.

Ciao - Cor

Can't reproduce on Windows -> adding to the Linux specific tracker. We're aware of a number of problems with Linux/GL support which is why it is not on by default ;-)

Then again - it would be good to get some details; if you can install a build with debugging symbols and get a stack-trace; or (perhaps) a valgrind trace that would be most helpful.

Thanks !

Sorry for delay and thanks for reminder (without that handling this bug report would probably sit the middle of my TODO list till my death).

For now I installed libreoffice-dbg and run a backtrace.

"But that is irregular, happens now and then" - tested multiple times, happens every single time for me.

Hi Mateusz,

Do you still encounter this problem with current stable version ?

Set status to NEEDINFO, please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once requested
informations are provided.

Best regards. JBF

I am unable to reproduce in original situation (I reinstalled system changing it 64 bit Lubuntu 16.04 and I have no access to 32 bit Lubuntu 14.04 system).

I failed to reproduce crash on my current system, though very poor performance and artifacts remain.
