With the rearranged and expanded menus in Writer 5.1 one cannot navigate to "Document" from the Insert drop down menu. "N" is now used for inserting a) commentaries, b) notes c) footnotes, d) end notes, and e) documents. As a result of the Alt+N for the type of notes in the "notes submenu," "Document" cannot be reached. To replicate: Alt+I > N > N > N > N Alt+I --> Insert drop-down menu N --> Insert comment N --> insert Note N --> (submenu) Insert footnote N --> Insert end note Additional "Ns" or "Alt+Ns" simply alternates between insert footnote and insert end note preventing movement down to allow the insertion of a document.
Confirmed behavior described. The types of notes can be reached by the shortcuts but the "insert document" cannot. Spanish Localization. LibreOffice 5.1.1.3 Windows 10. Claude
This is a general problem, spanning all menus and all locales. We’ve just got a script to detect duplicate accelerators: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=e667bcfa1749e6a9179b0900305f3179076dc63c With this, it should be easier for anybody to contribute to fix the problem by sending suggestions at: https://translations.documentfoundation.org/es/libo_ui
Great addition, but I think there is a human/user-side consideration as well. The problem here is the new sub-menu created by the merging of headers and footers into one item on the drop-down. Is this really the best for the user? In this specific case, I use footers nearly every day, but cannot recall the last time I used a header. Others may have the opposite experience or use both frequently. While I suppose that the burgeoning of menu entries led to the decision to combine these, it means an extra step for those who use one of the features on the sub-menu, and is bothersome when the user uses only or predominantly one of 2+ items. While I have tried to resist any sort of knee-jerk reaction to change, I think that the menu reorganizations require a review and/or significant user input. This comments take us a bit further afield from the bug report, so will be happy to make these on an feature request (new or ongoing) or other appropriate forum.
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.2.7 or 5.3.3 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2.
