Created attachment 124006 [details] Task Manager with a saving process hanged - characteristic: 0% CPU and 0 MB/s Disk I use Windows 8.1 64-bit and LO 5.1.1.3, ODT format Usually, I work with big documents, but have never had problems with saving documents. Saving lasts a very long time or just hangs and I need to kill the process because I can't work with the document. The document contains many formatting styles, images and is big (1500 pages). For me the bug is critical because I can't edit the document and save changes.
Is it still a problem in 5.1.2? We can't say anything about it until you attach the document. Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists in 5.1.2. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.
Yes, I have the same problem with LO 5.1.2. Of course, I won't send you the file. I I recorded the movie. The bug appear sometimes. Maybe, when you click the document being saved or switching among other apps and then come back to the LO. And try to save the big document in the process of its opening. A video will not help, we need the document.
But thanks to the video you can see the problem exists in reality, not in my head. I'm trying to prepare the file for you, but so far the saving is great though I used the same formatting styles. I will be still trying.
Any updates?
Now the document is 1.800 pages and it seems that all works OK. Saving is faster and no problems. I use Libre Office 5.2.0.2, 64-bit, Windows 8.1. Thank you!
That's good to hear, thanks for the update. Since there's no particular known commit that fixed the issue, changing status to WORKSFORME.
Something was done because I had really serious troubles with saving my Writer document and I was forced to kill the process because LO was completely blocked up. I lost my data many times. Now it works as should: fast and without hanging up.
