at least 5.0.4.2 was affected too. might be there longer (same error message) the URL itself (written as "non back to front") works as expected. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/api/1.5/search/libreoffice%205/9/9
4.2.8.2 with the "insert url of theme" persona selector worked.
does NOT occur on 5.1.2.2 (x64) on a Windows 10 VM!
I wrote "snow". It worked OK and found snowy stuff. Please test with a newer version. Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away. still occurs in 5.1.3.1 can confirm that it works as expected (as long as one doesn't use the "category" buttons, which are just dysfunctional), in Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha1 Build ID: 902b28a39528b6c92602e9b521a1d0861be1caf9 CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.1; UI Render: default;
Hmm.. fix might not be backported to 5.1.3. This is a newer build of 5.1.3: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/libreoffice-5-1/Linux-rpm_deb-x86@71-TDF/current/ Could you test with it? https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux
sorry, can't test this one (right now), as it fails with a missing libgio-2.0.so.0

I had the same issue in my v. 5.1.6.2 under Windows 7 64bit. By initial installation, the proxy settings for the Internet connection in LibreOffice, dialog Tools-> Internet -> Proxy was empty and the proxy server configuration type was set default to "System". In my case, the internet connection is configured in the system by an automatic configuration script. So when I tried to check LibreOffice for update or try to load a theme, the connection failed. After I set the proxy server configuration type to "Manual" and the host & port correctly, the update worked and the theme selection as well. Unfortunately the setting back to "System" doesn't work anymore, LibreOffice ignores it (which may be repated to the bug #33697) - even if I first purge manually all host and port fields in the dialog, then set the proxy to "System" and restart LO, the previous proxy settings are restored.

It is a hosting problem you must need to contact your hosting providers so they solve your theme problems. The https://www.australian-writings.org will help you to solve more if you still did not get help from support.
