When using Libreoffice Impress with i3wm, and when I am trying to start a slideshow, Impress just always shows the presenters 'cheat sheet' with notes and next slides. The actual slide show won't be shown on any i3wm workspace or any video output. When I try to use the 'exchange' button, the slideshow appears for a moment but immediately goes back. The same happens with 'ctrl + 4'. The version output of i3wm is: "i3 --moreversion 2>&- || i3 --version Binary i3 version: 4.10.3 (2015-07-30, branch "4.10.3") © 2009-2014 Michael Stapelberg and contributors Running i3 version: 4.10.3 (2015-07-30, branch "4.10.3") (pid 8501) The i3 binary you just called: /usr/bin/i3 The i3 binary you are running: i3"
Could you attach a document with notes and stuff so people can test quicker? Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the document.

The error is not document specific, at least not on my machine. I might have not explained it very well in the beginning, basically impress is stuck on the screen in the picture in the attachment. It is like that on all video outputs. pressing the exchange button does nothing.
I can reproduce the issue. Once you start the presentation, the presenter's page does take precedence. Also, using the 'exchange' button flashes the presentation briefly, then returns to the presenter's page. At this point, one may utilize one's i3wm fullscreen keybinding to pull back out of fullscreen mode. For me at least, both windows are present. I was then able to push the presentation to another output, virtual and/or physical. I checked xprop to see if I could use i3's rules to manipulate this window on opening. However, both the presentation and the presenter's page show the same [WM_CLASS= "soffice", "Soffice"]. The other variables are tied to the current file name, thus are less useful; example: [WM_NAME(STRING) = "Untitled 1 - LibreOffice Impress"]. libreoffice --version LibreOffice 5.0.5.2 00m0(Build:2) i3 --moreversion Binary i3 version: 4.10.4 (2015-09-08, branch "4.10.4") © 2009-2014 Michael Stapelberg and contributors Running i3 version: 4.10.4 (2015-09-08, branch "4.10.4") (pid 9236) The i3 binary you just called: /usr/bin/i3 The i3 binary you are running: /usr/bin/i3
Thanks, guys.
