Description Péter Adamát 2016-04-16 18:04:22 UTC
I experienced the bug a few months ago. I am not a programmer, I did not dare to repeat it. I could only delete the .odb file with Windows Commander.

I can not confirm with LO 5.1.2, win7
steps:
open explorer on folder
new database - save to folder
no crash

What is "Windows Explorer Extension"? What's your version of LO?

If possible, please follow the instructions provided at this link < https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg > and submit a backtrace. That way a developer can look into the underlying reason of the crash.

Thank you for the speedy answer.

What I called "Windows Explorer Extension" is what enables the Windows GUI to make ODF file icons appear as miniatures, showing their content. I could not figure out how to set the language of LO installer to English, so I tried to research its name on the internet.

Now I tried to repeat the error, currently I use Windows 10 and LO 5.1.2.2 . The error did not appear this time, when I set the view of the folder to show miniatures. Maybe I still used Windows 8.1 when I experienced the bug, unfortunately I do not remember.

Hello Peter,
probably duplicate of the bug 92269 - you wrote "experienced the bug a few months ago". Closing the bug, because you can not reproduce it. If you'll reproduce it, set again to unconfirmed. Thanks
