Created attachment 124544 [details] Example of Impress slide with missing letters in title When I view or edit an Impress document in the normal mode, often some (apparently random) letters of the slide titles are missing (see screenshot). This does not happen with the other modes, such as Notes, Slide Sorter or presentation mode. The problem only affects slide titles, not other text elements on the slides.

Hello, Thank you for filing the bug. Please send us a sample document, as this makes it easier for us to verify the bug. Created attachment 124565 [details] Screencast showing creation of example document with missing letters
I'm not sure a sample document is helpful in this case, because this problem occurs for me with all Impress documents, regardless of their content. Nevertheless, I've attached an example and a screencast showing the missing letters when I created this document. Please tell me if you need additional info.
I've made an observation which I think may help to find the cause of the bug: On my system the number of missing letters in slide titles seems to be related to the size of the Impress window. The problem is most severe with a maximized window on my external screen (27'', 3840x2160 pixels). When I reduce the window size to about 2/3 of the screen, there are no missing letters anymore. On the internal laptop screen (14'', 2560x1440), occasionally I get a single missing letter with a maximized Impress window, and no missing letters with smaller window sizes.
I was unable to confirm that the bug is present in Version: 5.3.1.2 (x64) Build ID: e80a0e0fd1875e1696614d24c32df0f95f03deb2 CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: default; Layout Engine: new; Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: group I think the help of someone with a big screen (27'', 3840x2160 pixels) is needed to confirm it.
@Alefa you reported this bug using an old, now obsolete, LibO version (5.1.2.2). LibO 5.3.4.1 is out now. please upgrade and retest. if bug is still there change status to UNCONFIRMED, if it's gone to RESOLVED WORKSFORME NEEDINFO until then
I can't reproduce this bug anymore with the version of LibreOffice that I'm currently using (LibreOffice 5.2.7.2 on Debian Stretch). Therefore I've changed the bug status to RESOLVED WORKSFORME. Thanks everyone for looking into this.
