when trying to navigate the file menu, save all ubuntu ends the session. When attempting to format the page the session ends.

What's your Ubuntu version?

Do you reproduce this after having renamed your LO directory profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#GNU.2FLinux)?
If yes, could you launch LO from console then attach the logs to this bugtracker by using this link (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?bugid=99749&action=enter) once you reproduced the problem?
