Trying to download for Windows 10 64 bit - and it gives me a .man file, not the expected .msi file. Ditto for the Help file

Can you give details about the steps you were following during download?
You're on this page, right? http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/

Actually, the question has been answered here:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/21822/how-do-i-open-download-file-man-in-windows-8/

In particular, here is the solution:

Okay, so I read a bit more, and the mime type of the file should be changed at the particular download mirror.
Do you have the exact download link?
Comment 5 Aron Budea 2016-10-25 23:24:08 UTC
Unfortunately those are the generic download links, can you paste the ones for the downloaded files?

For example in IE11, they're available at Tools -> View Downloads, then right click on the file name and select "Copy download link".

Using Windows 10, & finding it difficult, not helped by the internet in the Philippines dropping out frequently. Have found what I hope you are looking for, but don't get the option to copy it:

LO_5.2.2._Win_x86.man mirror.rise.ph

LO_5.2.2_Win_x64.man mirror.rise.ph

Had to wind up an old machine, as we're on Windows Edge 25.10586.0.0 and I can't find our how to see the download string. In IE11 I had to re-do the downloads, and have come up with

http://mirror.rise.ph/tdf/libreoffice/stable/5.2.2/win/x86_64/LibreOffice_5.2.2_Win_x64.msi

http://mirror.rise.ph/tdf/libreoffice/stable/5.2.2/win/x86_64/LibreOffice_5.2.2_Win_x64_helppack_en-GB.msi

HOWEVER, even though the strings say they are .msi files, they have actually downloaded as .man files again

Great, thanks!

I can confirm that the links download as .man files in IE. While issues with the website should be raised at http://redmine.documentfoundation.org/ , let's take care of this one here.

Xisco, can you see to it that the owner of this mirror adds the respective mime type for msi files? (AddType application/octet-stream .msi, as Andras suggested in https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53241#c5 )
