When viewing GS51-GettingStartedLO.pdf with evince PDF viewer, I see the following when looking at the bookmarks: At the top level there is: Copyright, Contributors, Feedback, Acknowledgments, Publication date, Preface, Chapter 1 When I open Chapter 1, the last item in Chapter 1 is "Chapter 2", and inside Chpater 2 there are chapters 3 to 14 and Appendix a I guess the structure is not what it is supposed to be.
Indeed, same with FoxitReader. Checking the ODT file available at [1], I noticed navigator sidebar pane doesn't list Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. [1] https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/

I noticed that in Format -> Paragraph..., on Outline & Numbering tab, Outline level is "Body text" for titles of chapters 1&2, and "Level 1" for the other chapters. However, the field is uneditable. I'm not sure where it's set... Olivier, do you know if fixing this is a simple change in the document somewhere else, or something is actually wrong with the file?

Created attachment 166283 [details] Screenshot of GS64 guide in Foxit reader 9.2.3 (In reply to sdc.blanco from comment #4) > How does GS64-GettingStarted.pdf look in evince? For me, GS64 no longer has the "nested chapter names" problem as initially reported, but has a different problem -- the first-level section names (like "Introduction" and "Choosing options for all of LibreOffice" shown in the screenshot) are not included in the PDF bookmarks at all. Should I file a new bug?
(In reply to sdc.blanco from comment #4) > How does GS64-GettingStarted.pdf look in evince? Changing to NEEDINFO Unfortunately I'm not sure I have the very same file as used back in 2016. For a version I found that was created "Mon 13 Mar 2017 01:54:29 AM CET" I could not reproduce the problem with evince-3.34.2 (which no longer is the same version as back in 2016, of course). shasum of the version checked today: 559d2ef149e4c2a70d3b4a1269e70a2c2916b32 GS52-GettingStartedLO.pdf
@Howard Johnson - thanks for confirming the problem with GS5.1 - but my question was about GS6.4. @Ulrich -- thanks for trying to go back in time, but it seems more relevant to consider GS6.4, which is the current version. (We can leave the Status here as "NEW" -- both from the original confirmation and from comment 5, 6, 7) But -- to all: Is it important to fix the problem with GS5.1 (or GS5.2)? I suggest "no". In which case, I suggest Resolving this bug as "WONTFIX" @Ming - better to file a new bug report for GS6.4. if you think this is a problem.
