Description Harald Freunbichler 2016-12-03 14:01:06 UTC
Description:
We got a XLSX-File with 12 sheets for working time summary. Three Employees are filling it in. They sent it to the head quarter. There they could not open it again with the origin Excel 2013.

I am an voluntary and the only responsible person for IT in this non-profit organisation.
I heard from that prob yesterday and does not know, how many months it persists.
I tested it with the same LO and Excel 2007. It could open the file with error messages. These error messages I will attach.

Therefore I am planning for 2017 to recommend, to use consistent Office-SW. That means, buying and installing MS Office 2013 in our Office too.
I am not happy with it.
Otherwise I prefer to use LO furthermore, if that problem could be solved.
Can this be replicated?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.LO opened and filled a XLSX sheet from a Excel 2013 user.
2.LO saved it / It has been sent to a Excel 2013 user.
3.This user could NOT be open the file again. (in Excel 2013)

Actual Results:
a Excel 2013 user could not open the XLSX-file, edited by LO.

Expected Results:
XSLX-compatibility

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Comment 6 Bartosz 2016-12-04 22:49:20 UTC
Unfortunately without .xlsx file which cause error we cannot do much.
Could you please remove private information from that .xlsx file, make sure that error is still exists and attach it to bug report?

If it is impossible please send it to me on my mail. I will investigate root cause of problem and will try to make a fix in LibreOffice 5.3

Some similar errors were also fixed in LibreOffice 5.3 Beta1.
Please download LibreOffice 5.3 and check if this issue was already resolved for you.

Best Regards
Bartosz

Comment 8 Harald Freunbichler 2016-12-05 18:48:06 UTC
I followed the recommendation of Bartosz (2016-12-04 22:49:20 UTC)

LO5.3.beta could not save a copy of the original, not edited (anonymized) file, so i anonymized it with Excell2007 and attached it to the thread. LO was been cancelled manually after 1min with 25%processor and about 1.600kb. It did not respond any more.

I opened the original file in LO5.1.6.2 and this version is able to save a copy! I am now anonymized it (with LO) and attached it. The incompatibility exists furthermore.

I am using LO since its start - so it is ok, to help with this, what I am able to.

Test03
The only downloadable LO version is 5.2.3.3, I'm using that.
Anonymized with excell2007
XLSX copy with LO5.2.3.3
THERE IS NO PROB WITH THE INTERCHANGEABILITY / LO5.3.beta crashes at saving file.

I am attaching:
az(excel2007anonymized).xlsx and
az(copy LO5.2.3.3).xlsx

This bug was already resolved with LibreOffice 5.3.
You could download latest images, which contain the fix from:

Bartosz, you're doing a great work.
If a specific commit/fix is not known, then it's not marked Fixed, but rather WorksForMe.
