FontWord rotated in Draw then pasted in calc : i can continue to modiy the FontWork !

Why is it impossible to rotate a drawing in calc ? A workaround is to edit the drawing in Draw (rotate for example) then copy/paste in calc.

Very strange because, if i copy a Fontwork the yellow anchors aren't lost from Draw to Calc so i can continue to modify the FontWork in calc but i cannot rotate it in Calc. But, why the hell ? It seems so easy to implement in calc !

You can use these ways to rotate a Fontwork shape im Calc:
(1) Right-click the Fontwork shape, then click on item "Position & Size". Goto tab "Rotation" and enter the rotation angle.
(2) When you click a Fontwork shape you get the toolbar "Drawing Object Properties". It has an icon, which shows a rounded arrow and has the tooltip "Rotate". Click it. The Fontwork shape gets red handles. Grab a handle and drag it to rotate the shape.
(3) Click the Fontwork shape. Then use the Properties panel in the side bar. It has a part "Position & Size" which contains the Rotation settings.

Oh thank you very much !

But why not adopt the same behaviour that Draw : an additionnal click on the shape do make appear the red handles.

Can you reopen the bug or make a new one to describe the problem ? I'm french and redacting a text in english is very laborious for me :-(

bug 73797 was incorrectly titled. Fix it and reopened this bug.

So you want them in Calc and not in Writer?
I think it is the same. Then the component should be LibreOffice, by the way.
Comment 8 Luke 2017-05-01 23:29:30 UTC
Writer doesn't support rotation of native images at all. Calc does, but the UI doesn't show handles. Until bug 73797 is fixed, the UI can only improved in Calc.

ah, thanks Luke!

In LO 6.3 I see item "Rotate" in context menu of shapes

With drawing object rotation now possible but not exposed by single click in both Writer and Calc, this is a duplicate of bug 90293.
