Description JustAUser 2017-03-31 18:24:42 UTC
Description:
Problem is described here:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/91530/calc-protected-cells-not-so-protected-bug/

LO Version 5.3.1.2

In Calc all cells that have the default style should not be selectable after a sheet is protected. When using the TAB or ENTER key the behavior is correct. However, when using the cursor arrows it is possible to easily navigate to protected cells that are (should be) unselectable. Also it's possible to enter the cell name of a protected cell in the name box and that cell will be selected. This seems like a bug to me.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Calc file
2. Protect the sheet. Deselect "Select protected cells". Keep "Select unprotected cells" selected.

Actual Results:
When using TAB or ENTER key nothing happens (cell A1 will stay selected) as expected. However, pressing the cursor arrows will change the selected cell. Also entering a cell in the name box will select that cell.

Expected Results:
It should never be possible to select unselectable protected cells. Using the cursor arrows or name box should not make ik possible to select these cells. An unselectable protected cell should be unselectable at all times and in any situation.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No. Other people on the forum have confirmed the bug though (see link in description).

Additional Info:
I created a temporary mail account to post this bug, because I do not want my mail address to be visible to other people on this forum. Would be nice if in the future I could post a bug without my mail address being visible to other people.

I confirm this in 5.3, but not in 5.4. It seems someone fixed it, but I can't find who.

Please test with a fresh build: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86_64@42/current/

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.

This was rather fine submitted bug except of some details such as which cells are protected and where to click.
Saying because indeed in 5.3 I could click on protected cells, albeit only empty ones, not with content. In 5.4 master not even that, as Buovjaga noticed.
There's still Select All problem, but that's mentioned in Bug 102162.
So I close as WFM. Feel free to set back to Unconfirmed should you test otherwise.
