Hello! I have been using the task pane to see and easily jump to topics and subtopics. But, the Index doesn't appear there and, when I want to move to it I have to scroll to it manually.

CHANGED TO ENHANCEMENT SINCE FOR NEWBIES IT IS HARD TO FIND [08:57] <bearon> marcoagpinto: i do see an item named Indexes in the pane [08:58] <marcoagpinto> where? [08:58] <marcoagpinto> below the "A"? [08:58] <marcoagpinto> just at the first entry? [08:58] <bearon> marcoagpinto: it's between References and Comments [08:58] <marcoagpinto> ohhhhhhh [08:58] <marcoagpinto> :( [08:59] <marcoagpinto> I was used to M$ Word 2016 where it appears in the navigation [09:00] <marcoagpinto> can I change the bug to enhancement and suggest at the start?
For me it is not clear, what your suggestion is? Change the order of the navigation entries? I don't think, that this would be a good idea, because everybody has his own preferences. Perhaps you can change the bug summary to make your proposal more clear (because the index appears in the navigator)
With "task pane" you mean the Navigator F5? "Index doesn't appear" is not true for the Navigator, it's at the Indexes section.

Yes, Áron told me there is an indexes section... but it was so hard to spot it as I was used to MS Word which shows it in the top of the navigation.
(In reply to Marco A.G.Pinto from comment #5) > ... it was so hard to spot > it as I was used to MS Word which shows it in the top of the navigation. The Navigator has a lot of issues and needs a complete rework (proposal in [1]). But having Indexes on top is not a good idea since others like the alphabetical index are usually placed on the bottom of the document. And therefor users may look for the index not at top of the Navigator. So putting all together the indexes are listed in the Navigator, and moving things around does not solve the low findability because too many nodes with a low relevance are shown. The status WORKSFORME is correct for the actual ticket but it's actual a WONTFIX.
