Description Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) 2017-09-07 11:46:17 UTC
Similar to how the sidebar is partially open in writer (only showing the tab button bar) since 4.4 (bug 85935), the same UI should be available in writer master documents.

I hoped that it could be default to have the Navigator sidebar tab to be opened when opening a master document instead of having a second floating Navigator window (Bug 105984) which drives my crazy every time.

As we dont default to fully open the sidebar in writer, i'm not sure that it should be done in writer master document, though if it is done by default, yes the navigator floating window would be disabled by default and the sidebar should default to show the navigator deck.

@Cor, @Stuart, @Sophie, @Regina: what do you guys think?

For me it makes sense to have it open by default as it's one of the most important tools for masters. Agreed on having it on sidebar to keep the behavior close to Writer. Sophie
