Description Jean-Luc Coulon 2017-09-13 20:19:08 UTC
Hi,

I've a problem resizing a picture.

The process is the following:
- I copy/paste a picture in writer. It is not the suitable size for me.
- I right-clic the picture -> properties
- I set Achor to paragraph, Size -> Width -> relative to paragraph area, I left alone the height. I set the width to "something", say 100%.
- I check "Keep ratio"
- I Click "OK"

The picture is of the right width but it kept the original eight.

If I reenter the Properties dialog, then I can resize normally the picture keeping the ratio. after having checked "orginal size" first.

I remarked that this occurs id the "Keep ratio" check box is not checked when I entered the properties dialog.

Regards

Jean-Luc

If you want to keep the ratio, you have to do the following steps:

1. right-clic the picture -> properties
2. check "Keep ratio"
3. you can change height (and width will change simultaneously) or vice versa.

So I close the bug as WORKSFORME. If the described steps don't solve your problem, please change it back to UNCONFIRMED and add an attachement so that the problem becomes mor clear.

Sorry, but I told I've checked the "keep ratio" box... but even then it doesnt keep the ratio.

I've asked on the french users list and there are several people having the same problem.

So what did I miss?

You can't confirm your own bugs. Moving it back to UNCONFIRMED until someone else confirms it.

Sorry, but I didnt click "confirmed" but only "reopen". Then I don't know how the system handle that though...
Comment 5 Dieter 2017-09-15 13:01:47 UTC
Regarding to your description, I thought you first changed the width and then checked "keep ratio".

Sorry, but I don't have any idea about that bug. If a lot of french users have the same problem you can send them a mail with a link to this bug, so that somebody can confirm it.

Hello, it works if you check "Keep ratio" first and then you change Width. But when you first change Width and then you check "Keep ratio" then it doesn't work.

Works
- I right-clic the picture -> properties
- I check "Keep ratio"
- I set Achor to paragraph, Size -> Width -> relative to paragraph area, I left alone the height. I set the width to "something", say 100%.
- I Click "OK"
