Description Victor Peters 2017-09-20 13:43:53 UTC
Description:
After starting up LibreOffice Writer, the menu bar (with File, Edit, etc.) is completely gone or hidden by the title bar. The upper bar with buttons is partly obscured by the title bar. The buttons and and other interactive elements do not respond when clicked upon.

When LibreOffice Writer is run in Safe Mode, both the menu bar and upper button bar are displayed properly and are fully functional.

Both the 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) version suffer from this behaviour.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LibreOffice Writer from Start Menu
2. That's it

Actual Results:
The menu bar is completely gone / hidden behind the title bar and the upper button bar is partly obscured by the title bar of the application.

Expected Results:
Menu bar and all other bars on top should be fully visible and functional.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
I tried both the Windows x86 and x86_64 version and they both seem to suffer from this bug.

LibreOffice Writer 5.4.1.2 started in normal mode

Withness the absent menu bar and the top button bar that is partially obscured by the screens title bar.
Also, the status bar at the bottom of the screen is only partially visible.

Resizing the window vertically or horizontally or maximizing the window to fulll screen doesn't have any effect on the issue.

LibreOffice Writer 5.4.1.2 started in Safe Mode

This is the screen of LibreOffice Writer 5.4.1.2 when started in Safe Mode.
Now the menu bar is visible and the upper toolbar is fully accessable.

Also the status bar at the bottom opf the screen is fully visible.

Please use the latest version of LibreOffice (5.4.1.2) for testing or reproducing the issue.

FYI: I run LibreOffice on Windows 10 Home 64-bits.

Please use the latest downloadable publicly available version/release (at the time of reposrting this bug that was version 5.4.1.2).

Version 5.2.0.4, that was used to try to reproduce the issue is NOT the version this issue was reported for.

Do you still reproduce the issue if you disable OpenGL?
I think this is a dupe of bug 107764

Using the information from
https://bug-attachments.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=118060
I created a .REG file and executed it on my system.

The issue is resolved using the 'fix' provided.

I'm not sure whether the 'fix' is preserved when (re-)installing or updating the software from a new MSI file downloaded from LibreOffice.org...
