Description Andreas.Kromke 2017-11-20 17:22:28 UTC
Dialogue Extras -> Optionen... -> LibreOffice Calc -> Formel:

„Matrix Spalte” must be „Matrixspalte” or „Matrix-Spalte”

„Matrix Zeile” must be „Matrixzeile” or „Matrix-Zeile”

„ODF Tabellendokumente” must be „ODF-Tabellendokumente”

Note the wrong spaces inside the combined nouns. They are a widespread plague and therefore ironically called „Deppen Leer Zeichen”.

Note that „ODF Tabellendokumente” also appears in Laden/Speichern -> Allgemein -> Immer speichern als. Same with "HTML Dokument" and „ODF Textdokumentvorlage” and „Unified Office Format Textdokument”

Further: Open the sub-dialogue via LibreOffice Calc -> Formel -> Details.... Here see the following typos:

„Auch Sprachabhängige umwandeln” must be „Auch sprachabhängige umwandeln”

„Auch Eindeutige umwandeln” must be „Auch eindeutige umwandeln”

Note the wrong upper case characters, a typical side effect of the government commanded orthography change in 1996. Further note that upper case here means that some human beings are (or a female human being is...) dependent from something, i.e. „Drogenabhängige” == "drug abusers" or "drug addicts" or "female drug user" or "female drug addict".

Reference: §58(1) of the official orthography rules (from 2006, but there has not been any change since then). There is even an example sentence:

„Der Verkäufer zeigte mir seine Auswahl an Krawatten. Die gestreiften und gepunkteten gefielen mir am besten.”

Many newspapers and people write „Gestreiften” und „Gepunkteten”, because upper case writing is believed to be progressive and modern.

In „Laden/Speichern” -> VBA-Eigenschaften:

„Basic Code” must be „Basic-Code” or even „BASIC-Code”. Discuss!

„Original Basic Code” must be „Original-Basic-Code” or „Original-BASIC-Code” or „Originaler Basic-Code”. Note the difference between the noun "Original" and the adjective "originaler".

In „Laden/Speichern” -> HTML-Kompatibilität:

„'Englisch (USA)'” is enclosed in apostrophes, but it should be in „”; it's untypical to use single quotes, as these are used for quotations inside quotations.

In „LibreOffice” -> „Personalisierung”:

The word "Theme" or plural "Themes" is not translated. A suitable translation could be „Thema” or, perhaps better, „Farbschema”. A non-translation is ugly and a stumbling block during reading.
Comment 1 Andreas.Kromke 2017-11-20 17:27:29 UTC
See dialogue „Detaillierte Einstellungen für Berechnungen”

„Konvertiertierung” should be „Konvertierung”.
Comment 2 Buovjaga 2017-11-20 18:04:06 UTC
Andreas: have you thought about joining the German team: https://translations.documentfoundation.org/de/
Comment 3 Sophia Schroeder 2017-11-24 14:43:42 UTC
I second Buovjaga: Better and faster to join our team and help to improve it yourself by committing suggestions via Pootle. ;-)

This was at least my way to go.

Nevertheless this bug report may helpful for further use IMHO, even to put in other possible misspellings in the comments below.

I have no time next days to fix things so you are more than welcome to join and try. ;-)
Comment 4 Andreas.Kromke 2017-11-24 14:50:37 UTC
In fact I have not thought about it, yet. But why not?

What is the procedure? Is there any guideline or introduction? Is it necessary to compile the whole project on one's private machine? I cannot remember to ever have used "Pootle". :-)
Comment 5 Sophia Schroeder 2017-11-24 15:10:57 UTC
Nope. Just use the link below:

https://translations.documentfoundation.org/de/

On the right upper corner on the site is a button: "Anmelden"

Choose an username and password, enter your e-mail, confirm the license agreement (MPL 2; LGPL 3+) and start. Welcome onboard. :-D

No need to compile anything. Look for the misspellings you found and correct them.

Bugreport Gustav Ostner vai [de-discuss]:

Hallo zusammen,

Comment 7 Sophia Schroeder 2017-11-25 11:35:32 UTC
Fixed a few occurrences from the so called "Deppen Leer Zeichen", as I fixed a few in the past already. Comment 1 "Konvertiertierung" is also fixed in 5.3 to master now. Thanks for that hint too. Comment 6 was fixed by Christian Kühl in 5.4 and master.
Comment 8 2017-11-27 16:51:05 UTC
Hi Andreas,

thank you for reporting all these errors.

I corrected most of them as I have found them in Pootle. I have corrected them only for master (upcomming 6.0 and later), as they aren't errors but only misspellings.

I haven't corrected "Themes" as it is a fixed term for Firefox Themes (see https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/themes/).

If you found any more errors, you can also write to our German mailing list, were we can response more directly.
