Description:
I am a PhD student and write all of my papers in LibreOffice. I would prefer to continue using LibreOffice for all of my papers--and, eventually, my dissertation. However, my doctoral program requires that footnotes be located "below the text" (meaning *immediately* below the text) rather than at the bottom of the page.

MS Word and other WP programs have this option but LibreOffice does not.

Please add the option to locate footnotes immediately "below the text." I really do not want to have to go back to Microsoft for my most important writings!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Tools
2. Footnotes and endnotes...
3. Position

Actual Results:  
Available options:
  End of page
  End of document

Expected Results:
Available options:
  End of page
  Below text
  End of document

Have you tried to solve your problem with the footnote settings in the page style dialog?
Format => Page => Footnote
If you select for Footnote Area "not larger than page area" and limit the space to text it should be possible to locate your footnotes below the text.

Please try it with an actual version of LO (LO 5.4.4)

Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.

Dieter's suggestion did not work.

(I installed LO 5.4.4.2, created a new, blank doc, typed some text, added a footnote, went to format --> page --> footnote, ensured that area was "not larger than page area" (which it was, by default), limited the spae to text to 0.00" (it was only 0.04" by default), hit Apply, and... the footnote is still at the bottom of the page.)

I am still requesting that this feature be added to LibreOffice.

Not reproducible for me. Perhaps it's only a Linux issue. Could you add such a document as an attachment?
