With bug 106534 (Color set/palette for charts missing since reorganization of color palettes) not only the LibO chart color set was added but also 2 color sets for charts of Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013.
They improved the usability because
1) all these Microsoft colors could be re-used in documents (especially in round trip environments with Microsoft products) and
2) LibO users had more choice of chart colors.
The current short chart-palette seems little bit lost.
In LibO 188.8.131.52 the chart colors are there, in 184.108.40.206 they are gone.
New color names can be chosen so that no legal problems occur.
I don't think that the colors itself (their hex/RGB value) are proprietary.

Please provide proof of this. Here is a link speaking for the opposite https://www.environmentalleader.com/2007/06/bp-loses-trademark-case-over-color-green/ (there are many other when you search for "trademark color", admitted that it is the brand color.
Also it makes not much sense when colors have completely different names.
To make this abundantly clear - pseudo-legal speculation in bugzilla is -emphatically- not appreciated. If you are aware of any legal topic you would like to discuss please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to setup a call.
